Hello, my name is Lyl (pronounced "Lil" ~ she/her). I'm so glad you're here!
My desire is to come to know you and your story as it has been and to be with you as you decide what comes in the next chapter. We were never meant to go through life alone, we are all worthy of feeling loved and seen. I strive to create a therapeutic relationship filled with trust so that you can feel safe in knowing you will never be alone in your healing journey.
I work with individuals, couples, those in the perinatal period and have a passion for those who have experienced trauma.
My approach to therapy comes from the belief that there is power in connection. What I have learned, is that there is no best way to do therapy. Because, it, like you, will adjust to be what you need most. Sometimes that requires a reminder of the immense good within you and other times, you may need me to hold on to the weight to make room for healing. No matter what your path looks like my goal is to remain fully attuned and connected.
I see my role as a therapist as sacred and I am honored to walk beside you. I promise that I will meet you with compassion and support. Through the lens of attachment, we will work to identify and access your innate strengths in order to experience a deep healing of the mind, body, and soul.
My education includes a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of San Francisco and I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brandman University.
I am trained in Brainspotting Phase 1 & Phase 2 with specialty trainings in Expansion and Perinatal Trauma.
I am a Certified Childbirth Educator, Lactation Educator and co-leader of ICAN of Sacramento, a support group for those who have had cesarean births. I have received continuing education in Birth Trauma and Evidence Based Birth.
